Hostel Booking but different

             I am working on a recent project for Hostel Accommodation. You may have seen plenty of  application and websites for Hostel Accommodation System But my project is something new.

            The application available on internet searches hostel based on location. They searches private hostels and in display result you will see a lots of pg. But student sometime refer to stay in college affiliated hostels. The benefit of staying in this hostels is that all the students in hostels are of same college sometimes same course. They can find help from their friends. They enjoy to live and work with batchmates. Extra benefit of staying in this type of hostels is the timing of hostels are parallel to colleges. You don't have to worry about timings of meal. There is no problem if your institute arranges extra lecture. You will not find any application for registration of this type of hostels.

            In my application you can find hostels based on your college. You have to enter your college name and you have to choose college affiliated hostel from the list. You will find all hostels which are connected with your college or college of your hostel.

            I learnt c++ in my college. I always want to learn how GUI work so I decided to implement a program on c++ GUI. I choose Visual Studio as my IDE. My programming language is Visual c++. I implemented this project in WinForms with help of .NET framework. First I learnt this language and also got the knowledge about basic GUI tools as button, label, textbox, checkbox, panel etc.

            I take subject of Hostel Accommodation. Reason is already mentioned above.

            I started implementation of this project. I started project but I experienced this as easy as well as hard sometimes. I started with designing main page. I make format of main page. I easily designed main page technically but I stuck at designing as I am not so good at design making and color combinations. Somehow finally I stopped at one design which I like(or I was tired of changing design).  

            The first thing is sign in. You have to sign in to use this app. simply you can click on Sign in button at right-top side of application. A Login window will appear. You can simply login using your registered username and password. If you are new user there will be link to create new account. After clicking it you will be redirected to a Sign up page. You have to enter your username, E-mail and password for creating account.

            There is one menubar at top with light blue background. There is various options. I will discuss it one by one.

• Home                                                                                                                                                        This is a home button.
• Fess                                                                                                                                                          This is Fess section. There are two options in it. 1)Pay Fees  2)Payment Status. You can pay fee and check status of your fees for selected month. 
• Review                                                                                                                                                    This is useful option. Here you can submit review for your hostel which can be useful for others. You can also view review for other hostels given by others.
• About                                                                                                                                                       Here you can find about me and my project. I have given the link of my blog which you are currently reading.
• Contact                                                                                                                                                     In this menu option I have provided my contact details like email and mobile numbers. If you find any problem or complain or any help you can contact me. I will answer surely. 
• Help                                                                                                                                                           here you can find help for this app.                                                                                                           

            The three features of this app can directly accessed by three buttons available on home page.

1)Book Hostel

            This is main application of this project. After clicking this You will be asked to enter your college. You can choose your college in dropdown menu. This is different thing from other applications that you can search based on your college instead of location. When you choose your college all the hostels affiliated with your college will be displayed on your screen. You will find various information about hostels like rent, room sharing, ratings, capacity . You will also find various services like AC, library, gym and laundry are available in hostel or not.

            There is filter panel in left side of window. You can find different filtering options like sharing, ac, gym, laundry, library you want or not. Rent is divided in three categories like 5000-7000, 7001-10000 and greater than 10000. capacity is also divided in three parts like up to 200, 201-300 and 300-400. Rating is divided in four parts. (1)upto 3  (2)3.1 to 4.0   (3)4.1 to 4.5   (4)4.6 to 5.0 . After choosing your preferences click on Apply button at top of panel. Results will be customized according to your preferences. You can find Book button for every hostel. If you click it one confirmation will be appeared to confirm your booking. If you click on Yes your primary registration will be done. You have to pay fees to confirm your registration. If you pay fees one bed will be allocated to you. You can select room and bed of our choice by going to hostel personally.

            If you are staying in hostels and you find any problem you can complain us. You can find complain button on main page.

            There is one good thing like review. . On main page after clicking on review from menubar you will see review page. Here there are two sections for review. Left side section is for give review about your hostel. We insist you to give review because this can be helpful for other’s to decide whether to book this hostel or not.

            Right side section is for viewing review about other hostels. If you are new user and don’t have registered for any hostel or if you are wishing to change hostel this reviews can be helpful. From drop down menu you can select hostel to see review about it. 

            In Pay fees section  you will see two drop down menu to select month and year. After selecting click on check fee. If you have paid fee for that month you will see “You have paid you fees.” Otherwise you will see options to pay fees and can pay from there.
